the Real reason for today's problems :

Welcome. This is a repository for random stuff about Jean-Paul.

What am I dribbling about today? and still searching for a good blog system. LJ works I guess

This is not a graphics intensive site. If anything it is under-graphic-ed. This is reminiscant of the days when I used lynx as the browser of choice. Well, it was all we had. and it worked. Pages loaded in under 5 seconds, something almost unheard of these days unless you happen to be connected via ethernet or better. If you like reading lots, then this site is for you. If you delve deep enough, you might come across some pictures, to keep you amused.

Email not getting through? Maybe it's being flagged as spam. Spam sucketh. If your email looks like something here (insert appropriate php RSN) then I won't ever see it. /dev/null will have eaten it.
See the lart page on how I would like to deal with spammers.

christmas has been and gone. I have a wishlist of what my cheapskate friends didn't get me.

I have an avid (and some used to say over enthusiastic) interest in the SCA - The Society for Creative Anachronisms. My real life.

Time for the computer geek bit. 64 bit CPUs? You want a Sparc, or an alpha. I am collecting them as time goes by. I now have two Sparcs, an ELC (20MHz, 16MB RAM, 17" built in mono monitor, useful for, er heating the room!) and a Sparc Classic, which is a 50MHz 48MB lunchbox. Very quaint and gets used as a heater, er console :) Occasionally. Work has lent me a SparcStation 5, with a coupla discs and a nice 17" monitor. Unfortunately, it's currently acting as a footstool. I now have an Athlon 1.2GHz with 5 10k RPM 9GB disks in it and a 120GB for all the other crap I've accumulated. One day I'll get round to installing linux back on it (Debian or Lesbian???) but in the meantime, I play games under Windoze and linuxey things with Knoppix.
I was avidly after a Digital Multia for a while, but when that deal fell through, I managed to find an Alphastation 255/233. It is nice, blue and called beowulf. It's currently being part of a VMS cluster managed by the scary Chad of Adrian.

I am also rather interested in robotics. Mainly the electronicy/hardware side of things as I have no software writing skills what so ever.

Just what is keeping me busy during my spare time these days? Spare time? I have some of that? I am losing my mind. Time to install the backup brain (123k pdf). That would leave me one brain for uni and one for everything else. Yes I like that Idea.

There is a lot of rubbish on what has become the internet. If you care about bandwidth and the non abuse of it, then read the BOFH for why I care about networks and Sluggy Freelance for why I no longer have a pet rabbit. (Ref. bun-bun) (largeish pdf of a poster, 1.1MB)

See the lart page on how I deal with people who make me stress.
This is of course, after I direct them to the How to read the manual page.
No I am not a cynic. There is no such thing a a stupid question, only stupid people. Hence merely realistic.
Can't find what you are looking for?

Some things I want to eventually do.

Some vaguely humouress bits 'n' pieces.
